Great success of the fourth edition of Bimtecnia, Forum of Construction 4.0.
- The cluster of efficient habitat of Castilla y León, AEICE, has brought together more than 140 professionals from the construction sector in 12 workshops with experts in BIM and digital technologies.
- Enrique Cobreros, cluster manager: “This edition of Bimtecnia wants to be eminently practical. Our aim is to show companies and technicians in the sector some useful tools they can use to improve their competitiveness”.
“Digitization is already a reality in the construction sector and is a journey without return,” explained Enrique Cobreros, during the opening of this forum, which also involved the Minister of Development of the regional government, Juan Carlos Suarez-Quiñones, and the Councillor General Delegate of the City of Valladolid, Manuel Saravia.
The workshops will focus on aspects such as 3D printing of scale models for professionals in the architecture and construction sector; BIM security studies, as well as their use for document management and site planning; IFC model quality control; and the collaborative web platform for model, incident and document management (BIMSYNC).
In addition, as a novelty, this year´s edition included a technological dinner for conference attendees to enter the world of digitalization and networking with other professionals who have already begun the digital transformation.
Within this first day of Bimtecnia, which this year was held in the Laboratory of the Arts of Valladolid (LAVA), the award ceremony of the BIMVA contest took place.
On this occasion, the BIM competition focused on infrastructures and, specifically, on a road in a municipality of Valladolid. The participating teams had a hundred hours to carry out a complete project of a road to which a bicycle lane had to be added and the necessary sidewalks to guarantee the communication of the inhabitants of the district of Fuente Berrocal with the urban centre.
Aeice has, for the organization of Bimtecnia 2019, the support of the Ministry of Development and Environment of the Junta de Castilla y León and the City of Valladolid, as well as the collaboration of professional associations and sectoral organizations that bring together the different agents of the sector.
